Recommendations or experiences with treatment of frequent migraines

I don't have too much knowledge on this. I used zomig whenever i had migraine attack. My condition used to be worse whenever i had any migraine attack. The best thing i had done is self-detective. I now know at least some things which trigger an attack. I am extra careful with those things and I had only one attack this year compared to six last year.

So, apart from medicine, try to find out the things which triggers the migraine.

To whomever you are asking for, I hope they get better. Its lot of suffering to go through.

I have had migraines since I was 14. I have tried everything from immitrex to pain killer shots. The only thing that works for me these days is plain advil at the onset of pain or Excedrin migraine if it gets really bad. My migraines are normally stress and stomach related. Meditation, especially when I am stressed and keeping my stomach happy are my best defenses.

If you can figure what causes migraine then half the battle is won. Hope this helps.

When I was young, I had this problem. I discovered that drinking lots of warm water and exercise made that go away. Cold water will freeze the body system and decrease the blood circulation, and that will make it worse. I didn't like to drink water and never made time to exercise before.

Have you tried Relpax ? It's a very good mediciane...sometimes I take it myself...

I took Acupuncture treatments, now I longer have migraines.

1. Stop having coffee.
2. Drink a lot of water, including in the weekend, since our routine
changes in the weekend. Keep water in your car, wherever you go.
3. Try to keep the same sleeping pattern in the weekend, especially
not to sleep in the afternoons.

I have had frequent migraines in the past, sometimes more than 9 headaches in a month, and I have learned how to get them under control with the help of Dr. Kenneth Peters. Dr. Peters is well respected in this field of migraine treatment. I heard about him through three other people independently. He runs a special clinic for headache treatment in the El Camino Hospital area in Mountain View.

He may prescribe preventative treatments such as dietary supplements (magnesium, riboflavin, feverfew herb, CoQ10), antidepressants, and anticonvulsants (topomax), as well as the usual triptans such as maxalt and imitrex, to treat acute symptoms.
